A POEM FOR ALTRINCHAM
A POEM, FOR ALTRINCHAM
As part of Stamford Quarter’s ‘Summer of Play, we invited local artists - comic book aficionado Rick Eades and creative word artist Kirsty Gbasai to help us create a brand new mural and co-created community poem to be displayed within the newly regenerated Stamford Square.
The creative collaboration is now on glorious display on Stamford Square. Pop down and have a look to see if you can spot a familiar Altrincham face in the ‘crowd’.
Full poem to be published soon!
WORKSHOPS
Over the course of 2 workshops that took place in the Stamford Quarter, over 70 workshop attendees had their likeness and words brought to life. The fun and interactive sessions were used to ask what a ‘Good day in Alty’ looks like, their words listened to and interpreted by Kirsty Gbasai while they were cartoonised by Rick Eades.
Over 3 days the artists set to work on installing the mural with some help from seasoned muralist Oskar with a K in the newly re-opened Stamford Square. Starting with Ana, our friendly local barista over at Starbucks!
