Altrincham Lantern Parade and Christmas light switch on

Produced by Altrincham BID, who manage Visit Altrincham, the spectacular lantern parade will be making its way through the town on Saturday 9th December. Funded by local businesses, with additional sponsorship from The Stamford Quarter, this is not to be missed✨

📍The parade will gather in Goose Green and set off at 5pm before making its way through Denmark Street, Moss Lane, Stamford New Road, Regent Road, Market Street, Shaw's Road and finishing in The Stamford Quarter.

Check out the local school and community choir performances on our stage in the Stamford Quarter throughout the day, followed by a festive singalong with @musicplacealtrincham at 5.30pm as the parade arrives.

And don't forget, Altrincham’s Christmas celebrations start a couple of weeks earlier, with the Visit Altrincham's Christmas Lights Switch-on show taking place on Saturday 25th November. Ryan Thomas, TV personality and influencer, will headline the show alongside Happy Radio’s Darren Proctor and Chelsea Norris.

The show will begin at 3pm with a heartwarming performance by the Little Belters, followed by The Music Place Choir, Sing It! and Wellington School’s Year 7 Choir. Local singers Alexander Stewart and Millie Royle will also be taking to the stage along with the cast from Planet Ice’s Wizard of Oz and team members of Altrincham Football Club. Santa will be putting in a special appearance and joining Ryan to press the big red button and illuminate the town’s lights at 6pm.

Visitors can park at the Stamford Quarter car park for just 50p all day on the 25th November and 9th December to celebrate these two very special events.
