The Stamford Quarter will celebrate the forthcoming King’s Coronation with a special day of Coronation themed community-fun for the whole family to enjoy on Sunday 7th May.
The Not So Secret Garden and George Street will play host to a programme of FREE arts and craft workshops with Inch Arts, live music, and amazing food and drink from Stutter and Twitch and Most Bakery.
The Not So Secret Garden will be decorated especially for the big weekend of celebrations with lots of colourful Coronation themed bunting and decorations. There will also be plenty of fun Instagrammable photo opportunities for the whole family to commemorate this special occasion including a traditional British red telephone box which will be installed on George Street and filled with flowers. This striking installation will be free for all to engage with (there will even be photo-ready accessories) and anyone who takes a pic of themselves in the box and posts to social media using hashtag #StamfordQuarter will be in with a chance of winning a £50 Stamford Quarter voucher!
Commencing at 10am, there will be four Coronation themed arts and craft workshops, courtesy of Inch Arts. Designed for the whole family to use on the big day they will include stamp designing, a ‘modelling the new King’ with clay session, a ‘pimp up your sunglasses’ workshop, and a 3D crown making and decorating event to finish off the day. The free sessions are bookable and places are limited so it’s advisable to book in advance, which can be done here.
The Stamford Quarter will also be brought to life with music live from the Stutter & Twitch stage. The S&T team will also be serving up their marvellous menu of hotdogs, nachos, coffee and tea from their van, as well as craft beers, cider and cocktails from the bar.
Joining them will be Most Bakery, who will be serving up their delicious brownies.
