The Stretch Station To Open In The Stamford Quarter
Altrincham’s The Stretch Station is set to open a brand new Longevity and Recovery Studio in the Stamford Quarter in Autumn 2026.
The majority of the public realm improvement works are now complete. George Street features a new resin surface, and Stamford Square has been reopened to the public with a summer long programme of events.
These enhancements were designed to improve accessibility and create a welcoming gateway into the heart of the town centre. This weekend, the ramp will reopen, allowing residents and visitors easy access to the Stamford Quarter. You can now conveniently cross from the transport interchange and walk up the ramp located between Foundation and Pure Gym.
In the coming weeks, additional seating and greenery will be added to further enhance the area. While there is still some work to be done on the stairs next to the ramp, all improvement works are scheduled to be completed by July.

Altrincham’s retail and leisure destination, the Stamford Quarter, has announced that leading health and beauty retailer Superdrug will be opening a new store in the heart of the town centre. The new store is set to open early summer.
Altrincham's Stamford Quarter finished 2025 in a position few UK town centres can match: near-full occupancy across retail and workspace, and over 4.5 million visitors recorded in 2025 (an increase of 14 per cent on 2024).
