The new Altrincham Starbucks is set to create 11 jobs and  will be located in a 1708 sq ft unit on the ground floor of the Foundation building. It will sit alongside three other retail, hospitality and leisure brands including independent bowling alley and entertainment venue, Lane 7.

The coffee shop will be designed bespoke for Altrincham with seating inside and out, flowing out onto Stamford Square. The announcement comes off the back of the Stamford Quarter celebrating a successful 2023, with visitors to the area rising by 5% year on year as the neighbourhood draws shoppers back to the high street. The combination of independent and national brands has proven to be an attractive offering and further new additions to the area will be announced throughout the year.

Foundation is set to complete in spring/summer 2024 with its impressive HYVERT living wall, which is home to 36,000 plants, already boosting Altrincham’s biodiversity and air quality.

Commenting on the announcement, James Tootle, Head of Retail and Leisure at Bruntwood, said:

“We’re delighted that Starbucks has chosen Foundation for its new home on the high street. A brand that is as globally popular as Starbucks is a fantastic bedrock for the Foundation community - one which will be made up of an exciting mix of independent and national brands. It will be a vibrant workspace community which integrates and supports the hospitality offering with amenities that benefit the immediate area and the wider town. As work gathers pace on Foundation and Stamford Square, we’re looking forward to making more announcements soon.”

Cllr Tom Ross, Leader of Trafford Council, added:

“We are totally committed to transforming our town centres and our work with Bruntwood on creating Foundation is a superb example of this. We are attracting huge names as well as independent brands to our town centres and that is fabulous news going forward.”

Foundation will also be home to a new state-of-the-art workspace for businesses of all sizes on the upper floor, bringing a whole new community to the Stamford Quarter. Carefully designed to enhance wellbeing and productivity, the development will include large workspaces to lease as well as flexible coworking space to provide an exciting environment for freelancers and start-ups wishing to work in the town centre. It will be a place that actively enhances work life balance and improves the wellbeing of its communities.
