The Stretch Station To Open In The Stamford Quarter
Altrincham’s The Stretch Station is set to open a brand new Longevity and Recovery Studio in the Stamford Quarter in Autumn 2026.
The public realm in the Stamford Quarter in Altrincham will be undergoing a transformation in 2024. The enhancements are designed to improve accessibility, provide space for community activity and encourage visitors to spend time in a more welcoming environment in the Stamford Quarter.
The improvement works, commencing on 2nd January 2024, will take place on George Street, Stamford Square, the ramp leading to Altrincham Interchange and the pavement outside of Foundation on Stamford New Road with completion expected in July 2024. All the businesses in the area will remain open throughout the works.
From 2nd January the ramp from Stamford Square to Stamford New Road will be closed with no access. Spring 2024 will see work complete on George Street, Stamford Square and the staircase from Stamford New Road, with a finish date of summer 2024 for works on the ramp and Stamford New Road
Any works taking place directly outside of the retailers will be delivered out of hours.

Altrincham’s retail and leisure destination, the Stamford Quarter, has announced that leading health and beauty retailer Superdrug will be opening a new store in the heart of the town centre. The new store is set to open early summer.
Altrincham's Stamford Quarter finished 2025 in a position few UK town centres can match: near-full occupancy across retail and workspace, and over 4.5 million visitors recorded in 2025 (an increase of 14 per cent on 2024).
