Visitors can enjoy a programme of entertainment and experiences designed for all ages. The day includes a drop in seed planting workshop hosted by Bowden Allotment Society, offering families the chance to get creative and learn more about growing their own produce, alongside live music performances by three piece jazz band, The Gershwin Gang, throughout the afternoon to create a welcoming and fun atmosphere. Younger visitors will also be able to take part in a chocolate egg hunt with eggs hidden across retailers throughout the day. And Sostrene Greene will be hosting Easter themed pipe cleaner crafts to make carrots and other Easter themed objects!
Food and drink will also be part of the day with Nell’s pop-up bar serving a selection of carrot-themed cocktails and soft drinks. Guests can also enjoy Nell’s freshly made pizza, conveniently ordered via QR code and delivered directly to their tables on Stamford Square.
Over the Easter holidays Altrincham is set to host a vibrant programme of family-friendly activities, headlined by the inaugural “Altringham” Heritage Carrot Day on Saturday 4th April, marking National Carrot Day. Led by Altrincham BID, the team behind Visit Altrincham, this unique initiative aims to celebrate and revive the town’s agricultural roots by encouraging the cultivation and use of the heritage carrot. Once a staple of the local area, this traditional variety is being reintroduced to promote biodiversity, sustainability and community growing.
The Stamford Quarter is home to leading independent and national hospitality brands including Rituals, Crew Clothing, LOOKFANTASTIC, Nell’s pizza and Yum Cha. The area also includes Foundation, a thriving, collaborative workspace and leisure destination, complete with a 375 sq m living biophilic wall on the building’s external facade.
